When you think of years of experience and a passion for the hospitality industry, think of Wendell. He began his career in 1973 at the Hot Shoppes Restaurant division, serving as General Manager for three locations until his promotion to District Manager. From there, Wendell moved on to the hotel division in 1981 as Director of Food and Beverage in the very successful Bethesda Marriott. Later advancements included serving as Food and Beverage Director and later Regional Director of Operations for Flagship JW Marriott, and as General Manager of the Boston-Peabody Marriott.
In 1996, Wendell retired to pursue an opportunity with Colin Nadeau to form Colwen Management, with the plan to develop and manage hotels in the Northeast. Their combined expertise has grown their venture into a bustling company that now manages 15 Hilton and Marriott branded properties. Today, Wendell is pleased to serve on Marriott’s Residence Inn’s Systems Standards Committee and has contributed to brand initiatives for other Marriott select service hotels.
